Spiritual Counselling

So what IS Spiritual Counselling anyway, and in what way does it differ from traditional counselling or therapy?
In the usual counselling relationship, it’s very important for the therapist to maintain a clinical distance from their client. This is not the case in SC. Instead, the counsellor chooses to be a close companion to their client, with both people in close connection to God, or to a Higher Power or whatever term works. There is an emphasis on deep listening, and on attunement. Attunement not just to the client, but to our own Higher Power, and to that of our client. We see ourselves as walking alongside them on their journey, as they seek meaning and direction, and clarity.

It would be my privilege to walk alongside you on your journey.
